New access platform equipment can come with a hefty price tag, particularly in the current market as supply is limited by transport problems, wider issues resulting from Covid- 19 and other economic problems. However, the show must go on and projects have deadlines. With so much at stake, if you’ve normally only considered buying new then we do suggest looking at refurbished access platforms.

Is a LOLER certificate a guarantee of quality?
All our machines can be supplied with an existing LOLER certificate or a brand new one, whatever is your preference. This legal requirement guarantees the machine meets safety requirements at the time of the LOLER certification inspection, but will not guarantee the lifespan of the machine or protect against future repairs needed.
How do you tell if a used MEWP needs work?
When you enquire about a used scissor lift, mast lift, boom or any other MEWP from International Platforms we will discuss in detail the current condition of the machine. You then have the option of agreeing a sale to suit your quality requirements including as is, with current LOLER, with new LOLER certification, fully refurbished and with the option of repainting too.
What is included in a full MEWP refurb?
In some cases we undertake a full refurbishment before adding a machine to our stock list. For example, look at this Skyjack SJ6832 scissor lift which is available this week. This model is famously robust and suitable for all terrains meaning it can work in even the most adverse conditions. We decided this particular machine would benefit from a full refurbishment and have repaired or replaced the following parts as needed:
- Many structural components
- Wheel motors
- Hydraulics
- Electrics
- Full engine service
- Control box refurbishment
- New starter battery
- Full repaint and new decals
This machine will also be supplied with warranty.
