If you’ve ever wondered if it’s worth visiting APEX, then read on to find out why we wouldn’t miss it.

2023 has been a busy year for shows so far, the team has been to USA for Conexpo, the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) IAPA awards in Germany and, of course, Vertikal Days in the UK last month.

Then in June 2023, Vicki, Jade and Chris took the Eurostar to Maastricht to visit APEX 2023.  Despite being busy in the office we felt it was really important to get insight into the access platform market direct from industry experts, manufacturers, rental firms, end users and stall holders.

The International Platforms team agreed it was also a  great place to meet up with so many old friends, all who find it worthwhile to take time to travel away from our desks to network and find out more about the access platform industry.

Why access professionals visit APEX

APEX returned to MECC in Maastricht

The trip to The Netherlands for APEX enabled the International Platforms team to see over 150 access platform exhibitors, network and chat with industry experts.

Although we’re best known for selling used access platforms, events like this are a great way to keep our industry and technical knowledge up to date so we can give the best advice.

We were particularly interested in the latest low-emission and electric access equipment. Electric scissor lifts are already in big demand, and we we’ll be keeping our eyes open for when next generation of used eco-friendly access platforms start making their way into the market.

Amongst the 150 (or so) exhibitors Vicki, Jade and Chris were invited along to visit the stands held by our many international friends and contacts in the access platform industry.

Our team was also able to meet up with global access rental companies, construction contractors, utilities, structural engineers, transport providers, fire fighters, broadcasters and sign writers. It is hard to imagine a more eclectic collection of businesses all brought together for one type of product!

APEX 2023 was also a great opportunity to visit IPAF’s first Women in Powered Access networking breakfast to hear from IPAF President Karin Nars and Tijske van Hellemond from JLG.

So if you’ve ever wondered if it’s worth visiting APEX, then our answer is yes!
